This BJSM podcast discusses how health care professionals can learn from the sports psychology world. Noting the similarities between athletes and health care professionals Dr Helen Church has put together a new PERFORM (Performance Enhancing Routine for Optimisation of Readiness using Metacognition) framework, using Performance Enhancing Routines to improve clinical performance. She provides practical advice on how you and your practise can benefit from simple sport psychology measures giving some fantastic examples for inspiration. Dr Helen Church is a GP trainee and academic clinical lecturer at the University of Nottingham, working as a clinical assistant professor in medical education.
